I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but here, there are butterflies everywhere! I don’t remember seeing so many. I just went out to the backyard to get these photos. Does anyone know why there are so many this year? I’m guessing it is the excess rainfall we’ve had here.
Mostly I see Eastern Tiger Swallowtails. Since I love to look things up, I was amazed to find out that both the yellow and black swallowtails are the same type! How and why does that happen? Nature is always fascinating.
I’ve also seen Sulphurs, Blues and Skippers. I admit. I had to look them up, but there are a lot of great books and online sites where you can easily find out which beauties you are looking at.
Not only are they beautiful, they are a great way to slow down. They move in such a leisurely manner that after observing one for a while, you can’t help but take a deep breath and relax. Take a look and see if you see any floating and fluttering your way!
