Sunday Reflection

Isn’t going to church
meant to contemplate
how I’m doing
on my spiritual journey?

Isn’t sitting on my porch
taking the time to reflect
on the gifts of my life
the same thing?

In church I listen to the
voice of the preacher
surrounded by people who
have the same beliefs.

Sitting in meditation
I listen to my inner voice
surrounded and embraced
by all of Spirit.

Isn’t it all the same?

Like your way of thinking because I think the same way.

  2. Totally relatable! But I do think that there is an answer: the difference is there’s power in numbers. 😉

I don’t think it is the same. Your Inner Voice is a lot smarter then the preacher is because that Voice is God. Truly. If we all listened to our Hearts to that Inner Voice, we would be a lot better off for it. Love, Amy

    • Amy, I definitely believe as you do. This poem was one of those pondering ramblings and I was curious to see how others interpreted it. Thank you so much for your comment. I find it very reassuring.

Sherrie, you are so welcome. So many would rather rely on another telling them what to do rather then to turn inward to listen in the Silence of their Voice, that which is of God. I hope that through your example, and others, people will begin to start listening to their own Guidance. Love, Amy

Yes, it’s all the same. It all opens your heart, it seems. Whatever opens the heart is to be cherished.

  5. This post is absolutely perfect. Such a vast and profound message said in just a few words. It touched my heart. Thank you!

    • Rick, I thank you for your kinds words. Your wonderful photos touch people the same way.

      • In those photos Sherrie, I seek to show how Spirit shines in everything found in Nature, just as your words help remind us all that it can shine in each of us if we take time to reflect and listen. I’m delighted we are fellow bloggers.
